ประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้อง: ประชาธิปไตย, นักต่อสู้เพื่อปกป้องสิทธิมนุษยชน, การกระทำผิดที่ไม่ต้องรับผิดชอบหรือถูกลงโทษ, กองทัพ คณะกรรมาธิการสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งเอเชียขอแสดงความกังวลใจอย่างยิ่งต่อการจับกุมนายพรม จาระณะ (อายุ 64 ปี) นักปกป้องสิทธิมนุษยชนและนักต่อสู้เพื่อสิทธิที่ดินทำกิน สมาชิกสมัชชาคนจน ในกรณีบ้านเก้าบาตร อำเภอโนนดินแดง จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ ตามข้อมูลที่รับทราบจากองค์กร Protection International และสมัชชาคนจน นายพรมถูกจับกุมตัวโดยกลุ่มเจ้าหน้าที่ทหารและตำรวจที่บ้านพักในตำบลหูทำนบ อำเภอปะคำ จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ เวลา 10.30 น. วันที่ 17 กรกฎาคม 2557 ภายใต้การควบคุมตัวของเจ้าหน้าที่ทหารในจังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ การจับกุมดังกล่าวเกิดขึ้นหลังจากการคุกคามและการข่มขู่ไล่ที่ดินชุมชนเก้าบาตรเป็นเวลายาวนานหลายสัปดาห์ ปัจจุบัน ครอบครัวของนายพรมยังไม่รับทราบถึงสถานที่หรือเหตุผลที่ถูกนำตัวไป การจับกุมคุมขังนายพรม จาระณะโดยพลการถือเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการโจมตีนักต่อสู้เพื่อสิทธิมนุษยชนภายหลังเกิดการรัฐประหารขึ้นในประเทศไทยในวันที่ 22 พฤษภาคม 2557 นำโดยพลเอกประยุทธ์ จันทร์โอชา หัวหน้าคณะรักษาความสงบแห่งชาติ ผู้ยึดอำนาจและยกเลิกรัฐธรรมนูญแห่งราชอาณาจักรไทย ทั้งนี้ ภายในระยะเวลาเจ็ดวันหลังการยึดอำนาจโดยคณะทหาร พบการจำกัดเสรีภาพการแสดงออกและเสรีภาพทางการเมืองอย่างร้ายแรง, การเรียกพบรายงานตัวกับคณะทหารทั้งที่เป็นทางการและไม่เป็นทางการ, การควบคุมตัวโดยพลการอย่างกว้างขวาง, การบังคับใช้ศาลทหารเพื่อดำเนินคดีกับพลเรือน, การมุ่งโจมตีประชาชนผู้ยากไร้และการสร้างบรรยากาศแห่งความกลัวซึ่งเป็นอันตรายอย่างร้ายแรงต่อสิทธิมนุษยชนและหลักนิติธรรม ภายใต้กฏอัยการศึกซึ่งถูกบังคับใช้สองวันก่อนการรัฐประหาร กฏดังกล่าวได้ให้อำนาจทหารในการคุมขังและสอบสวนบุคคลใดๆ เป็นเวลาเจ็ดวันโดยไม่ต้องมีหลักฐานการกระทำผิดหรือข้อกล่าวหาประกอบ ประชาชนจะถูกจับกุมและควบคุมตัวในสถานที่คุมขังซึ่งไม่เป็นปกติ รวมถึงในป้อมค่ายถาวรและชั่วคราวของทหาร หรือในสถานที่ที่ถูกกำหนดให้เป็นที่คุมขัง […]
