AHRC is wide active in promoting the perception of human rights which gives equal weight to economic, social and cultural rights as to the civil and political rights. This booklet is the Report of a workshop jointly organized by AHRC and Lasallian Community Education Services (LCES), a small NGO working in the slums of Colombo whose work include empowerment of women, the marginalised poor, drop outs, non-school-going children through skills training and working for upliftment of families in the slums through education and improving nutrition.
