Urgent Appeal Update : As has been widely reported worldwide, in January the government of Burma released from prison over 600 detainees, around half of who were political prisoners. Many of these people the Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) had issued appeals for in the last few years. BURMA: Neither evidence nor law anywhere to be found in trial of alleged bomber

Statement : A relative of a young man accused of bombing the traditional New Year festival in Rangoon during 2010 has again petitioned the Supreme Court for the trial to be transferred to another judge and for the case to be heard in accordance with law. The petition comes after the police officer in charge of the investigation into Phyo Wai Aung submitted a statement to court in which neither evidence nor law was anywhere to be found. Read More...

သၾကၤန္အတက္ေန႕ က  X2O မ႑ပ္ေရွ႕တြင္ ဗံုးေဖာက္ခြဲမႈႏွင့္ စပ္လ်ဥ္း၍  ဖမ္းဆီးထိန္းသိမ္းထားျခင္းခံရသည့္ ကိုျဖိဳးေ၀ေအာင္ အားမတရား ႏွိပ္စက္ညွင္းပန္းျပီး ေျဖာင့္ခ်က္ရယူကာရန္ကုန္ ေျမာက္ပိုင္းခရိုင္ တရားရံုးတြင္ အမႈအား စစ္ေဆးလ်က္ ရွိပါသည္။

ကိုျဖိဳးေဝေအာင္သည္ အက်ဥ္းသားတေယာက္ ရရွိရမည့္အခြင့္ အေရးမ်ားကို ခ်ိဳးေဖာက္ျခင္း ခံရသည့္အတြက္အာဏာပိုင္ မ်ားႏွင့္ တရားရံုး အဆင့္ဆင့္သို႕ မိသားစုမ်ားမွတဆင့္တင္ျပေတာင္းဆို ခဲ့သည္။ အာရွလူ႔အခြင့္အေရး ေကာ္မရွင္က၎အမႈႏွင့္ စပ္လ်ဥ္း၍ မ်က္ေျခမျပတ္ ေစာင့္ၾကည့္လ်က္ရွိပါသည္။

အမႈႏွင့္ပတ္သက္၍ ျဖစ္ေပၚတိုးတက္မႈမ်ားကို ႏိုင္ငံတကာမွ လူ႕အခြင့္အေရးအဖြဲ႕မ်ား သိရွိေစရန္ ေၾကျငာခ်က္မ်ား၊ သတင္း ထုတ္ျပန္ခ်က္မ်ား၊  အလ်င္အျမန္ လုပ္ေဆာင္ရမည့္ေမတၱာ ရပ္ခံစာမ်ား ကို ထုတ္ျပန္ခဲ့သည္။ ဤအင္တာနက္စာမ်က္ႏွာတြင္ ထိုအမႈႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္သည့္ အေၾကာင္းအရာမ်ား အျပင္အမႈႏွင့္ သက္ဆိုင္သည့္ စာရြက္စာတမ္းမ်ားလည္းေဖာ္ျပ ထားသည္။

Phyo Wai Aung was accused of taking part in a bomb plot in the X2O Yangon Water Festival and was tortured to get a confession. His trial process is still ongoing at  Yangon northern district judge. Furthermore, he has been denied the facilities usually given to detainees and that is why he has made a complaint via his family members to the chief of the States to take action on the responsible officials who have done this.
