Investigative Functions

Allegations of human rights violations may be brought before the Asian Commission by an organization or individual. The AHRC shall formulate its own rules of procedure to ensure that its investigations are fair and just, including those for gathering of information, hearing of witnesses, and sending of investigative missions. Any investigations of specific allegations of human rights will be carried out by an Investigative Commission of three members. To ensure the independent nature of the investigation, no member connected with the country under investigation will be appointed to that Investigative Commission. In some cases, members from the same sub-continent or part of the region may also be excluded.
